A few of you suggested that I organize a mass rewatch of an older episode to get us through the next two weeks. I was about to start preparations on Health Care when it dawned on me: I’ve got two whole weeks to work with here. That’s a pretty decent chunk of time, certainly enough to explore some possibilities that need exploring. So, here’s what I’m going to do for you all: our self-programmed rerun will have to wait; instead, I’m going to deliver something even better to you folks sometime within the next couple weeks.
I can’t reveal any more than I already have, but I can almost guarantee that it will rock your world. At the very least, it will rock your socks off. Stay tuned.
I hope it happens before March 2nd (I'm dying here!)
james. sounds great. but we are office fans. dont you think everyone is imagining you frantically calling around trying to come up with something? ;-) actually it sounds great. on the re-watch, if time is the issue, what about posting a simple comment page for a re-watch of diversity day which you already have a recap for?
10 bucks says its a forum.
Erm...nevermind...I dont have 10 bucks. :)
I can't help but be curious when someone promises to rock my world and knock my socks off, so I'm happy to just wait patiently and see the surprise :-)
Hmm...forums?....live chat during an episode?...a booze cruise?!?
Tenacious D.
Rock your F-ing socks off.
Oooh! I'm voting for the Booze Cruise. Didn't even think about that possibility. I'll round up funding, if necessary.
Ahh James, you're killing us with anticipation.
At least now we have something Office-related to look forward to.
James, as wild as the ideas of your readers have proven to be in previous comments, you have to be aware that there's no way you can exceed expectations when you let their imaginations run rampant. Regardless, great news on what is always a pretty depressing day of the year.
I hope it is a Snickers fun pack.
a scientific formula to prove why the JPI must go up or even every episode?
I think I know what it is, and if it is what I think it is, it's going to be cool!!! Then again, I might be way off.
Ooo I hope it's a forum because then I could post interesting information like this..... They've delayed the season finale until May 10! Jenna already told us that they've ordered an extra ep, but it appears that they are going to show some repeats. I'm excited; going from March to September would have been horrible!
I can't stand the suspense...:O
is it a Michael Scott type of super secret special suprise? One that ends with complete and utter silence when he goes to reveal it?
Ooh Ooh! Does it involve ski masks or swimsuits? Should we bring a toothbrush? Or maybe laser tag in a mine?? I love surprises! And I used to love the Olympics, but now they're taking away The Office, which is NOT cool. What am I going to do over the summer??
Boom! Agent Michael Scarn with the FBI -- reveal your secret plan, or suffer the consequences!
... In other news, I vote FORUM! I love this place! ::Grin::
Ice cream sandwiches for everybody...huzzah!
the kind with the cookies?
as to the announced extension of the season into may, i heard a news story that might be related. npr (i think it was) did a story on how american idol is this huge ratings juggernaut on tuesdays. they even said that was the reason nbc moved earl and the office to thursdays.
but since idol is known to expand to thursdays some weeks, nbc may be making some schedule space to allow it to run a rerun when idol has a thursday episode.
Maybe we're all getting our own customized bobbleheads...or a specialty grilled cheese sandwich...or a gift certificate to Chili's...or a blow-up doll.
Or maybe we'll get all of this AND be able to take our treasures with us on a booze cruise.
Wow. The possibilities are endless.
Ice cream sandwiches!?!? A trip down a coal mine elevator!?!?
Maybe we're going to have a basketball game? East coast v. West Coast!
Does everyone know what today...or better put...tonight is? I thought you might...it's Thursday night...and if you see an adult male wondering the streets of you hometown...don't dispar...it's only me with nothing to do...See you on the other side of the Olympics...but, since we're forced to watch the competition...any chance we can get Pam in some of that spandex???
Soooo...what is it??? It's Thursday already and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do tonight- will Northern Attack come to the rescue?
Not quite ready to unveil the big surprise yet, but it's coming along. In the meantime, sit tight and think happy Office thoughts.
happy Office thoughts ... hmmm ... no one at the Office ever seems too happy, though ... except Michael. Michael always seems to be in a happy place all his own. I want to be in Michael's happy place ... except I don't want to have to be Michael to get there!
Lets play some "the office" trivia, to pass the time... Can't wait for the next episode. I'll start with an easy one.
Where does dwight live with his cousin? Hint... Teenagers use it for sex.
Hopefully everyone can think of a good question and we can all laugh and possibly learn about the office while we're waiting for the next show.
Here is one more question. That first one is really easy...
What does Todd Packer's license plate say and what kind of car does he drive? Well, he isn't actually allowed to drive right now... DUI...
Maybe scripts ??
Michael: "I'm Bork from Smork - Glibiddy BluBlu"
Okay, Todd:
(29) Dwight does NOT live on, but rather runs a 60 acre beet farm with his cousin.
(30) Todd Packer's license plate reads "WLHUNG" and is on a Chevy Corvette Convertible.
Here're my questions:
I- Who was the client in The Client?
II- What was Captain Jack captain of before taking the job with the booze cruise boat?
III- Who originally picked Kelly's name in Secret Santa?
I know they might be easy, but I'll add more if we have to wait long enough.
My socks are ready to be knocked off any day now... Ideally before The Office comes back on...
Graham
I'll give it a shot....
I- Who was the client in The Client?
City of Scranton? (Tim Meadows)
II- What was Captain Jack captain of before taking the job with the booze cruise boat?
Coastal PBR (Patrol Boat Recon) in Desert Storm ?
III- Who originally picked Kelly's name in Secret Santa?
Pam?
Kelly's name was picked by Stanley. He got her a desk name plate which was opened by Ryan during secret santa
Captain Jack was in Desert Storm, I can't remember what exactly
And
The clients name was christian played by tim meadows, and he was setting up an account with dunder mifflin for the entire lackawanna county.
I almost had awesome blossom coming out of my nose!
I loved that part.
And when they starting singing the baby back ribs song.
AWESOME!
Yep, Edward, you got II, and Todd Packer cleaned up the other two, haha.
My turn I think ...
An easy one to start: What's Dwight's favorite breakfast cereal???
Edward,
I think it's Count Chocula.
If that's right, then here's one:
What is the slogan on the side of Dunder Mifflin trucks?
Supplying the Scranton business community... I think it was something like that. I couldn't remember seeing it on the show but it was mentioned in the "scranton insider" on lifeintheoffice.com.
In the halloween episode, what was creed dressed up as? I love when we get a taste of creed. Someone making soup??? hahaha...
Creed was Dracula. I love Creed, too!
Okay, (this is fun) how much did Dwight say his fitness orb cost before Jim decided to pop it with the scissors?
How much did Dwight say his fitness orb cost before Jim decided to pop it with the scissors? 25 dollars ? That was a great Jim-Dwight exchange :)
Great Truck/Logo question - that one had me stumped.
Speaking of vehicles and logos...
Has anyone else noticed a toy car that is moved around the office one episode to the next? The car is approx. 8 inches long. What type of car and what type of logos are on the doors?
Edward,
Excellent question! Is it the black-and-white VW Beetle with the Geek Squad logos?
Who was the first one out of the office when ryan started the fire? This question is easy but the answer is hilarious.
Yes, it's a model of the GeekSquad VW Beetle
That's impressive :)
Wow Edward, I hadn't picked up on that... do you have some examples of where it appears so I know what to look for?
Todd Packer,
Michael was the first out of the building in "The Fire." Man can he scoot! According to Michael's warped thinking, it was okay for him to get out first since DM doesn't employ children (they're not a sweatshop, ya know) and women are equal in the workplace.
Ryan started the fi-ya!!
Trivia question:
What does the first slip of paper say that Michael pulls from the suggestion box in "Performance Reviews?"
#48 answer - What should we do to prepare for Y2K?
Yep, you're right, Blake. Good going. Here's another:
What is the name of the red-haired female that works in the DM warehouse who Michael called the "East German gal?"
"Madge"
#29 - I'm still cracking up over the "hint" on this trivia question! Teenagers use beet farms for sex? Yikes! I'm only 25 but suddenly I feel about 80 years old. Those crazy little whippersnappers! :-D
Wow Edward, I hadn't picked up on that... do you have some examples of where it appears so I know what to look for?
In "email surveillance" it was on Stanley's desk. Other times you may see it on the counter at Pam's desk or parked near the Homer Simpson doll.
Right again, Blake. The woman in the warehouse is Madge. I can't stump anyone...it's fun though :)
Back to the trivia. It's trivia bowl Sunday. Here's one:
What is Dwight's all-time favorite movie?
Dwight's all time favorite movie - "The Crow". On a side note: "The Fire" is one of my favorite episodes -loved how intense Pam was when Jim was asked who he would do.
You got it, Blake! Here's another:
Who does Dwight go deer hunting with all the time?
Lori - you stumped me. His brother? Maybe someone else knows.
Yes! I finally stumped you. No, it's not his brother. Good guess, though.
Dwight:
"I’m a really good hider. When my father took me out hunting I found out that deer have really good vision. But then I realized that I was better at hiding than the deer were at vision."
Excellent, Edward. Here is another:
What is the number on the building where DM is located?
1725
Where is Vance Refrigeration?
Vance Refrigeration is on the other side of the elevator, on the same floor as Dunder-Mifflin.
A bit harder than what's on Todd Packer's license plate... what's on Michael's?
Michael's license plate is 7640 LPS.
What does Michael claim that he is the "king" of?
Michael is the king of forwards, as in forwarded email in the Sexual Harassment episode.
What was the name of Cinemax movie Michael saw late night once?
Michael watched More Secrets Of A Callgirl, a movie he initially thought was called Portrait of a Prostitute.
What was the information on the chalkboard marked Do Not Erase before Michael erased it?
The chalkboard showed who was to perform the Loading Duties for the week, until Michael erased it.
What was the name of the former employee who died and how did he die?
Tom, from accounting. Ask phyllis how he died.
Speaking of phyllis, what did she think dwight was at halloween?
And what items did dwight want to bring with him when michael asked him to move in to his new condo?
One last question to throw out there before I stop wasting company time.
What movie did Michael reference/quote while in Jan's office on V-day?
"I don't wanna work, I just wanna bang on this mug all day."
Great scene...
I feel like Michael Scott today, waiting till the end of day to sign all those papers...
"Come on guys, Lets gang bang these out..."
Todd,
I asked Phyllis how Tom died but she just made a strange gesture.
On Halloween, she thought Dwight was a monk, then she called him an ass. "Phyllis, comin' alive."
Dwight wanted to bring a terrarium and a large number of armoires with him if he moved in with Michael. It's a shame he didn't since he only has the one bathroom at his beet farm, and it's under the porch.
Michael made reference to the movie "Airplane" in Jan's office. "...and don't call me Shirley...Airplane."
Great questions, Todd. Now quit wasting time typing your name on here and practice on the forms.
"Question," (as Dwight would say) name the 3 businesses that have better health care plans than Dunder Mifflin, according to Michael?
1) Michael's BFF (Todd Packer) is amazing. Per Jim, what's one thing that Todd Packer can't do?
2) What's Todd Packer's middle name? *note - your answer must be in the form of a question :)
"Question," (as Dwight would say) name the 3 businesses that have better health care plans than Dunder Mifflin, according to Michael?
I think it's the Karnac bit in the Dundee's episode but the punch line escapes me...
Edward,
1)According to Jim, Todd Packer can do anything but, "pass that breathalyzer."
"Hey, what has two thumbs and hates Todd Packer? This guy." Love Jim's expressions when he said that.
2)Question, what is Fudge? LOL!! Loved when Michael asked Ryan what the F. stood for. Ryan catches on quickly.
I'm loving this trivia bit so I figured I'd toss one out there:
What brain teaser does Phyllis have posted on the wall near her desk?
Trent! Glad you could play trivia with us. Do you mean the elephant picture that asks how many legs do you see, or something like that?
Lori (75), I'm pretty sure that the beet farm and the farmhouse aren't related. I may be wrong about that though.
And to answer 76, the PLO, the IRA, and the hot dog stand behind the warehouse.
I don't know that one, Trent.
Here are some from me, trying to be more obscure:
Yup, it's the elephant optical illusion seen here.
Very good eye for detail!
Hmm, Graham, I'm not sure about any of those at the moment, and I actually missed the episode with Devon in it so I'll have to pass.
Graham - too tough for me
At one time, I think Stanley had a screenshot of the earth (as seen from the moon).
Are phones SONY? (sounds odd though)
Devon - ??
Striking out so far...hint on Stanley's, though: it's a standard one that comes with Windows.
What color of jelly beans does dwight like?
During season one, in the deleted scenes on the dvd, Dwight had about 7 or 8 baseball player bobbleheads on his desk, and he was trying to make them all the time as Jim was trying to talk to him. What baseball team were the bobbleheads from?
"If they don't bobble, then whats the point?..."
#87: I'm going to guess Phillies, since in the season 2 scene where all of his desk items are in the vending machine, a Mike Lieberthal bobblehead is in there.
#82:
1. Is it the black lab on the wood floor? I know that someone has that desktop; not sure if it's Stanley
2. In "The Dundies," Michael singles Devon out when he tells people to keep acceptance speeches short. Is this what you're referring to?
3. They have Cisco Systems phones.
Is Stanley's desktop "Red Moon Desert"?
I think Kevin's desktop is the MS "Friend" (black lab)
Edward got the desktop, actually Dwight calls out Devon on that, Adam, but the rest of your stuff is right. Okay, now let's jump on those forums, mmhmm!
#87: They were Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons bobbleheads. (Phillies AAA team - Mike Lieberthal was also a Red Baron)
#91: I went back and checked the alliance scene again, as well as the booze cruise scene with Lieberthal. You'll notice that of the six on Dwight's desk, the middle four bobbleheads are different from the two on the end (the Lieberthal bobblehead being identical to the two on the end, with the brighter red.
If you go to the deleted scenes, I could make out two of the names on two of the bobbleheads... [John] Kruk and [Brandon] Duckworth. Duckworth was a Red Baron, but Kruk never was. This leads me to believe that four of the bobbleheads are Red Barons and two are Phillies.
Actually, there was a John Kruk Red Barons bobblehead as a promotional giveaway in 2004. Lenny Dykstra, too, even though they only ever played for the Red Barons on rehab assignments. The different red could just be because they were from a different batch?
Do you mean, knock my socks off? Knock my world? Knock me out of my world?
Whatever it is, I can't wait! ;)
