Man, that was a riveting episode, because of all the new interactions between characters. It will be awfully interesting to see how all the newbies fit into the current network of relationships in the office. I hope Jim and Pam get back together, and I'm excited to see Jim as number 2, that should spice things up between him and Dwight. I don't really like Andy a lot, so I'm going to have to cheer for Dwight against him.
Great job on the recap!

Oh man, there are so many lines that I need to start working into popular vernacular. For example, this week I'll be working on comparing various abilities to types of snakes.

i hope the rumors are true and that Jim really isnt dating Karen. he just wanted things with Pam to be normal. it'll be great when Pam finds out that Karen has a thing for Jim but isnt his GF

Let me just say that this recap = awesome. I could not have summed up the Jim/Pam interactions any better! Your discription of Jim was perfect, too! Anyway, great great recap. Look forward to more :)

I had another idea! If Jim did indeed tell Pam about moving on to test the waters with her, then he would have gotten the satisfactory reaction if Pam hadn't already prepared herself for it. So I kind of take back what I said about the conversation not having a chance to go anywhere good. If Jim had seen the look on Pam's face when she figured out there was something going on between him and Karen the whole thing could have played out differently. Jim was looking for a reaction and all he got was a generic "it's good to have you back", I'd be pissed too.

Scranton - i completely agree. Pam was a little miffed that Jim had basically been avoiding her all day. Plus, she was excited to see him (and that blew up in her face), then she saw the backrub Karen gave Jim, etc. etc. It all kind of piled up and she got angry and, boom, you have the Pam in the parking lot scene. She was not in the mood to hear Jim tell her he was seeing someone else. Pam wasn't going to confess to Jim. She was probably sold on the idea that he had moved on from her and, like you said, she seems to be respecting those intentions and wishes.

People think Pam should confess, but that's so unlike Pam to do that. She's just not going to do it. Pam's way of being aggressive was hugging him in front of everyone or asking him out to coffee. That was so unlike the season 1/2 Pam, but still Pam. True, she needs to start putting herself out there a little more, but, for now, that was definitely a good start. Plus, Jim being so distant (not just from her but from everyone) didn't help much either.
